The first production of Bubble Boy: The Musical was at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza's Scherr Forum on February 7–8, 2008. It was based on the 2001 film starring Jake Gyllenhaal, which itself was based on 1976's 'The Boy In The Plastic Bubble' starring John Travolta.
